Pigeons 1

Pigeons (1) behaviour that is extremely interesting according to a recent report which details a new role for pigeons. A multi-national (2) was asked to measure the effects of drugs on animal behaviour , and their chief analyst, Mr. Lewis noticed one day that women were used to check for (3) capsules. "That is a job any pigeon could do," he said, because he knew about the pigeons' learning abilities On completion , capsules left the production line. There, Mr. lewis set up a bright, narrow beam of light to pass (4) them and if a capsule was perfect, the light showed a single spot.If, however, it was imperfect , the light showed a double spot. In their training, two pigeons were rewarded with food every time they correctly identified a wrong capsule. The experiment worked. But the company rejected using pigeons on a permanent basis because they were nervous of possible bad (7) They felt the public might think pigeons were not as reliable as humans.
