The Bear 1

Bears are found on the continents of North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, and can (1) very dangerous. They are good at (2) trees, and are very mobile. (3) many animals, they cannot see very well, and so find their food by using (4) sense of smell. There are seven quite different kinds of bears, and the (5) , the polar bear, is found in polar climates. This bear is white and can grow to a height of three metres. Another kind of bear is the black bear, of which there are two kinds. (6) lives in North America, and the other lives in South East Asia. Although these bears are called black bears, not (7) of them are black, some being dark brown. The most popular member of the bear family is the panda, which lives in China, although not (8) are left in the wild, because they find it difficult to find the food they like, which is bamboo.
