INTETEREST -INTERESTED - INTERESTING


Theory:

Sometimes The words INTERESTED and INTERESTING can cause some confusion.
They both come from the word INTEREST which can have several meanings.

INTEREST is a noun.
For example:
I don't understand your INTEREST in that person.

It also has a financial meaning.
For example:
My bank gives more INTEREST on my money than yours.

Both INTERESTED and INTERESTING are adjectives.
But only a living thing can be INTERESTED.
For example:
Those lions seem very INTERESTED in that deer.

In contrast, anything can be INTERESTING.
For example:
I find this stone very INTERESTING.
