TION AND SION WORDS

Theory

Many words in English end in either TION or SION.
They sound very similar and so are often confused.

The ending TION usually sounds like SHUN.
Example:
STATION sound like STAY SHUN.

A few TION words sound like SHJUN.
Example:
EQUATION sounds like EE KWAY SHJUN.

The ending SION has a very similar sound to TION, but has a slight J sound.
it sounds like SHJUN.
Example:
VISION sounds like VI SHJUN.

The ending SSION sounds like SHUN just like TION.
Example:
PASSION sounds like PA SHUN.

There are two things to be aware of.
The combination TI, SI and CI very often have the sound SH in English.

Also, the letter O very often sound like U.
For example:
The U in SUN sounds exactly like the O in SON, MONEY, MONTH, MOTHER, MONDAY and MONKEY.
The ON in TION also has the same sound.
So, TION has the same sound as SH + UN.
And, STATION sounds like STAY + SHUN.
